資料の解説: 東京帝国大学農科大学の桑樹見本園で育てられていた桑樹、約750種類の葉を魚拓のように写し取ったものです。様々な形の桑の葉をご覧いただけます。本資料の序文によると、農科大学の前身である駒場農学校では明治14年（1881）に桑園を設置し、明治17年（1884）に増設しました。当時植えられていた桑は100種程度でした。明治21年（1888）に日本各地の桑種を収集して桑樹見本園となり、本資料が作成された大正7年（1918）には約750種を育て、外来種の収集にも努めていたようです。
