A Navy-trained man is always sure of employment.Chances for travel are unequalled. Navy vessels cruise to all parts of the world.Navy life is exceptionally healthy. It develops strong bodies, quickness, self-reliance. Athletics are encouraged. Every battleship has baseball and football teams, rowing crews, etc.Navy pay is excellent, and advancement is assured men who become efficient. Apprentice seamen receive $17.60 a month. Men who know trades begin with higher pay. A chief petty officer may draw upwards of $100 a month, clear of living expenses. Each re-enlistment means increased pay.Men who choose the Navy as a permanent career have privilege of retirement with pay. In event of disability or death in line of duty, pensions are allowed.
