文亀元年(1501)から慶応4年(1868)に至る、日本における洋学の由来を整理した大槻修二(如電)著『日本洋学年表』(明治10年)を、鴎外が要略して写したもの。天文台設置・移動の記事や、東京大学医学部の前身である種痘所、及び、同様に後に東京大学となった開成所の変遷についての記事には朱点が付されており、鴎外の関心の在り所を伝える。特に後者については、日本における洋学の発達と深い関わりのある、自身の出身校の由来を確認する行為でもあっただろう。(目)
