松崎観海は、丹波篠山藩の儒者。太宰春台門下の詩人として知られる。本書は複数の人物による筆写稿を集めて一本としたものである。本書は、観海の他、同じ亀山藩の儒者であった辻湖南の資料も多く収めており、他にも深谷公幹・宮筠圃・村田子謙・宮瀬龍門・石島仲緑・伊藤竹里・勝竹川・勝元亮・野呂連山・原万菴の詩文を収録している。観海を中心とする、太宰春台門下の様子、また、丹波文苑の様子を知ることができる資料である。本書の筆写者は不明だが、「松崎観海」、「辻湖南」など、原稿用紙に書かれた各部の見出しは鴎外筆である。(多)
