解説:8号竪穴では、奥壁部と開口部の2か所で骨塚が検出された。これは奥壁部の骨塚で、写真手前が開口部側である。貼床の縁から外側にかけて、1.4m×2mの範囲でクマ頭骨とタヌキ頭骨を中心とした動物骨が堆積していた。

comment:In Pit House 8 two bone mounds were found, one from the innermost area and another on the opening side. The photograph shows the bone mound in the innermost area, and the front of the photograph is on the opening side. Animal bones such as skulls of brown bear (Ursus arctos) and raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides) were piled in an area measuring 1.4 m × 2 m from the edge of the U-shaped clay floor to the outside area.
