資料の解説

「錦橋」は池田京水の父、池田錦橋。本書のもととなるのは錦橋の『新刊痘科弁要』、安井息軒『弁妄』とその附録『異証治験十一條』である。巻末に、「以上借吉永卯太郎蔵本抄之丁巳四月二十八日午前源湛」との識語があり、鴎外は大正6年(1917)に、吉永卯太郎の蔵本を用いて以上の書から人名を抄出している。吉永卯太郎は北九州の歴史家、黄檗宗の研究家。『伊澤蘭軒』資料の一つであろう。(多)
