近世期日本の儒者について、その名字や号、出自を記した鴎外自筆のノート。『江戸儒医評判記』、『嘉永二十五家絶句』、『近世畸人伝』、『鴻爪詩集』、『慊堂遺文』、『采風集』、『詩聖堂詩話』、『樵山存稿』、『天保三十六家絶句』、『梅堂親朋字号』、『福岡藩儒伝略』、『墨海』、『朴斎詩集』、『名家尺牘』などが参考文献として挙げられている。中根若思の項に「看安永騒壇」と記されているので、本書の作成時期は、同書が編まれた大正6年(1917)以降と分かる。『伊沢蘭軒』や『北条霞亭』制作の際に資料を提供した福田禄太郎や三村竹清の書簡や話に基づいて情報が記されている人物も存在し、本資料が史伝小説の執筆とも関わりを持っていたことがうかがえる。(合)
