『美術年契』は、明治24年(1891)8月に、金港堂から刊行された。絵画、彫刻、建築、漆芸、陶芸、織物の6つの項目を設け、神代から明治まで、歴代天皇のもとで活躍した人物の名、または代表的な作品の名などを挙げて、年表としてまとめたもの。これを鴎外が書写している。著者の福地復一は明治時代の美術家であり、東京美術学校図案科の創設者。他に『帝国美術史』、『東洋美術史』、『美術工芸』、『図案集』などの著作がある。(多)
