解説：柄が非常に短かく、刃と柄の角度も鋭角に取り付けられていることから、片手で腰をかがめて使用したもので、刃先の形状や刃の長さを考えると、畝立て（うねたて）・中耕（ちゅうこう）・播種（はしゅ）後の鎮圧（ちんあつ）作業や畦塗り（あぜぬり）用に使用されていたものと考えられる。東京農林学校の焼印がある唯一の農具。
