菅茶山『黄葉夕陽村舎詩』や頼春水『在津紀事』などに記述がある石見の人物について、その事跡を調べたノート。ただし、鴎外の筆にかかるのは第1丁のみである。最終丁には「幸麿拝答」と記されているが、これは『北条霞亭』その六十五で言及されている、佐伯幸麿のことと考えられる。該所には、幸麿が鴎外に対し、かつて津和野の養老館において市川忠蔵の息子である捨五郎の教えを受けたと語ったことが記されているが、本書の第2丁表にはおなじ逸話が録されており、『北条霞亭』の執筆に際して用いられた資料と推定できる。(出)
