The Series of Utsunai type pottery can be subdivided into Type Ⅱa and Type Ⅱb, and the former, which is the earlier type, has a characteristic feature of small bumps running just under the top of the rim. This piece also has cord-impressions and appliqué decorations on the upper part of the body.
