チャールズ・ジョン・フッファム・ディケンズ『鐘の音・精霊の物語』のドイツ語訳。鴎外とディケンズとの関わりについては、ほかに、論文『「文学ト自然」ヲ読ム』(全集22巻『文学と自然と』)において、ディケンズの長編小説を「複稗」の例として挙げたことが知られているが、これは、鴎外が直接読んだのではなく、ゴットシャル(C.R.Gottschall)の『詩学』(Poetik、鴎A100:1667)から引いたものであるという。「種々人物、錯雑叙出、英人小説、多用其法、諷世之文」という、文体についての書入れがある。(河・山)

This database mainly contains materials with Ogai's handwritten transcripts and materials with his handwritten memos among the Ogai Bunko, the former book collection of Mori Ogai.
