解説：備品票の刻印から、農科大學の物理実験で用いられ、風速と回転速度および出力の関係などの基礎データから、唐箕（とうみ）などの風力を利用した農機具設計への応用を学んだものと考えられる。かつて、教養学部の1年生のときに、農学部に進学する学生の大多数が、物理実験・化学実験・生物実験を必修とされていたのは、農科大學時代からの伝統であったとも言える。また、駒場農学校には、揚水（ようすい）用と推定される実用風車があった。
