活字化：24 Nov. 1909 Dear Dr. Chree, ／We are shortly getting out some new forms to be sent out to various stations and filled up as Registers. ／As we are now making note of exceedingly minute movements I should be very pleased if you could give me hints as to the shape the “forms” should assume, particularly with regard to general directions given in the headings. ／I only wish to publish records from any station which are confirmed by records obtained at other stations or are known to refer to disturbances which have a true seismic origin. ／This week you will receive Circular No. 20. ／Had we published all that had been sent to us it would certainly have been 100 pp. instead of 50. ／Of course I cannot be absolutely certain that all the omissions were not of seismic character. ／Every observatory will however keep the whole of its records for purposes of reference whether they are published in the Circular or not. ／In connection with this matter my intention is to seek advice from several observatories and then do the best I can. ／Yours sincerely, John Milne
