『西青散記』は、史震林による説話。本書は、晩年の震林が自訂した本文をもとに、後学の裴玠≪ハイカイ≫によって後年刊行された本文である。鴎外が中国の才子佳人小説を愛読し、小説に利用したことは良く知られている。本書にも薄命の佳人・双卿が登場する。鴎外は朱点を打ちながら本書を読み進めており、とりわけ悲劇的な場面には「魂死」など、感動を記している。なお、巻六の二に登場する「拊石」という人物名は、鴎外『青年』の登場人物(夏目漱石をモデルにした「夏目拊石」)と共通している。(多)
